It is right that every state has to levy tax to generate revenue for their own state. But every state has their own infrastructure development. So why can't there be uniform state tax?

Though every state has infrastructure, it may be adequate or inadequate for the revenue generation of a particular state. Which is why there is less scope for uniform taxation.
I too find it weird that there is discrepency in prices of diesel and petrol, while in Karnataka where we pay one of the highest rates Goa it is almost 5 or 6 rupees less for a liter...I dont see why we should not have a uniform pricing system..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!
