Govt. tells court Govt. cannot disclose identity of black money owners abroad

Govt. id bound by law and treaties. Obviously govt. cannot reveal the information of black money abroad. Ram Jethmalani is unhappy about this. It needs to be understood that anybody may say anything when not in power. Once in power, rules and law matter. What is black money? This is nothing but income on whch tax is evaded. Govt. can take action only under law. Govt. may recover the evaded tax, interest and penalty according to law and nothing more. Obviously, the whimsical demands of persons like Swami Ramdev cannot be aceded to by government- even the Modi government- inspite of any promises and commitments made during electioneering.

    There is a clause laid down by the German and Swiss government not to disclose account holders name unless their guilt is proven, so the stand taken by the government is right! I am sure Modi means business and will not protect anyone and once they take up the issue of getting the black money accounts proved the names will be revealed. The difference is that UPA never had any intention of revealing any names under any circumstances. The very fact that the NDA government has procured the list after going through all the necessary steps shows that further action will be taken ...

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    There is nothing to blame the government led by P.M. Modi. The only relevant point to stress is that goverment has to go by law and international treaties and not work whisically as proposed by swami Ramdev etc. Even Jethmalani, (I don't know ehther he is still in BJP) is unhappy about govt.'s current stand on black money.

This govt. is going to make this treaty and then alI defaulter's name will be declared publicly, and if they reveal names today then these treaties will not see the light and never ever names of these defaulters will come out open.

    The govt. is acting right. The only point is that the govt. is doing everthig just as UPA gverment would do. Durin electioneering, Modi fans were maing very tall claims on everything- relation with China, Pakistan, black money and so on. But now they are all subdued as now they have to face ground reality. If Manmohan singh had talked with Chinese President while Chinese troops entered India, the saffron storm tropers woud be making noises. They would be claiming that they would brin all black money within a week or so. Now all these tall talkers including Ram Dev are mum. Even Anna is silent on Lok Pal issue.

    Not now. Congress and BJP both are products/ cmmoities of corporates. when they feel that BJP is no more useful to them, they would do to BJP what they did to Congress and boost Congess

    It is an interesting observation which after due thought I tend to agree. If accepted, then all this hullabullah by vocal supporters seems to be a case of "begani shadi main abdullah diwana" for both the parties.
