Mystery of after life

Personally, I have almost no interest in afterlife. I wish that no rites be even observed on my demise and body disposed off in electric cemerorium. However many are so interested in after life that they pay price for good afterlife to haridwar and varanasi priests(panda).

    I have not met anybody so far who has returned to life, after death, to explain what happened after death. Even though several concepts and theories exist on the subject, it is better to believe only those things which agree with reason, and watch everything else like a fairy tale.

    I believe in after life though I have to depart to experience what lies ahead or rather beyond. But all that we have seen in movies is the only experience we have..none of know what happens. But surely, there must be some truth in after life or similar concepts. I just can't agree that they are all figment of human imagination.

    Yes, both the heaven and hell exist here only and we get the fruits of our actions, whether they are good or bad, in this world itself.

    I know only one fact about after life that there is no life once a person leaves this world. I am least worried what happens to me after I depart because if there is any truth I will not be the same what I am today in my next birth. So why worry?

    Whether life continues and there is rebirth or not , the idea is comforting to many, so they hold on to the belief of rebirth ....Death is so final that it can depress you when you seriously sit and think about it because life itself becomes meaningless when you think of death....

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    Death is the only truth we all know about, afterlife is still a concept on which many choose not to believe and is still a mystery.

    Really the idea may be comforting to many. In Ghalib, Urdu poet's words- Dil bahalane ko halib khyal acccha hai (The idea is good to console the mind- Ghalib).

    Afterlife is a very interesting concept and well I personally do believe in the concept. What I believe is that there is the consciousness which still exists after the death of the body.
