Protests are on the increase on land acquisition. This is indeed a very complex difficulty.  every one wants development- more industry, more roads, more trains, more hospitals and so on. But this also needs more land. But landowners don't want to give land. This is a vicious circle.  This is also time to consider that forests, agriculture and animals also need land to survive. So mad rush of development ignoring peasants, forests and animals must stop somewhere.

Most of the protests are from the opposition parties. If development is the criteria, then the land has to be acquired. If necessary through an ordnance. Now the state of AP has to build its capital,in a centrally located place. The govt. AP is assuring adequate compensation and jobs to the the families and suitable compensations.

What we need to appreciate that land is limited. We don't have more land than that in 1947 whereas population has increase fro 40 crore to 125 crore with greater demand of land for various purposes and development. It is the same land that needs to apportioned between agriculture, forests, wild life needs, schools, hospitals, roads, railway etc.  It will be very unwise to neglect environment, forests, wild life, agriculture, peasants in mad race for development. The basic fault lies with unprecedented growth in population with all attendant consequences.

I agree with you. It's mandatory to give due consideration to environment, forests and wild life before the acquisition of land. A balance has to be struck between the development and environment.

You ate bang on,Gulshanji! All our developmental efforts are fallaciously predicated upon the presumption that our resources are infinite and that is fundamentally flawed

I would like to see some of the clauses dropped as these do not favor land owners but go in favor of Mafias and industrialists.

Now-a-days people are investing more money on lands because they want to receive huge income within a short period. Some govt is not giving the right value for the land owners. Some political persons are acquiring the lands from the people using their political influence. Man wants to live his life without giving much attention to other nature depended animals. Development will come only when people adopt the policy of give and take.

Development is possible only when people join hands with the governance .
