One leader has commented that the PDP- BJP government in j & K is a case of strange bedfellows. It is usual for opposition to make such comments. But on serious note, what is the alternative when no political party gets clear majority. Some compromise has to be made in such situation. However such compromise should be transparent and in public interest.  To be fair to both PDP and BJP, they formed coalition government in transparent manner. They arrived at common minimum program as basis.  There was no other alternative also. Secondly,  Jammu & Kashmir consists of  three regions- Jammu, Kashmir valley and Ladakh.  BJP got massive public support in Jammu region but failed to get any representation in Ladakh and valley. J & K needed a government represented by all regions. The BJP- PDP coalition represents all regions.  Any other coalition would be denial of any representation to Jammu region.  This is the reality whatever be ideological position.
