India's participation in Pakistan National day function

The Union minister of state for external affairs and ex Chief of army staff feels disgusted having attended Pakistan National day functiong even though considering this his duty. A Congress leader commented that if disgusted, the minister should have resigned. 

However, it is not understandable why should somebody be disgusted for performing duty. India has diplomatic relation with Pakistan and so it is okay for a minister to attend the function. Rather expressing disgust itself  is failure in performing duty. Moreover, cabinet has joint responsibility. It is improper for a minister to make such comments. The minister should not have resigned as the living and thoughtful persons can always have different views. Ultimately the collective majority based decision has to be implemented and there must be no expression of disgust.

    True... That minister shouldn't have comments this thing. Nothing wrong in it. It is not like they are taking Pakistan's side..lol

    The biggest mistake is he has shown his disinclination to perform his duty, being an ex police chief.

    The disgust part understandably comes because the Pakistani embassy was filled with Anti national elements like the Hurriyat leaders and others who have shown their preference for Pakistan and to be on the same platform with them must have made MR Singh very upset and he vented out his feelings...Congress of course is every ready to criticise where BJP and its leaders are concerned ...

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    Indeed, he would have felt bad to be so close to separatist leaders who too were invitees. But such things happen whenever you are invited somewhere- be social or religious or political function. If some body invite me, he may also invite some whom I dislike. If you have such mindset, you will feel disgusted wherever you go.  Moreover, it is very disgusting that a minister is disgusted to perform his duty.
