PM has a right to appoint anyone as a minister according to his best judgment. But what happens if the minister is unqualified or semi qualified or otherwise does not suit the job!  Just see:

When agenda is the priority then talent does not matter.

As long as the minister executes his aasigned jobs in tune with the needs of the ministry, qualification or no qualification, doesn't matter.

The issue mentioned in post relates to bad consequences of appointing under qualified minister.

But who will decide whether the minister is wrong? Some comments say the scientist in the first place is not qualified to be posted on that particular post.

I could not read the article since it is in hindi and I am not very fluent with it. However, this appointing under-qualified ministers has been happening since Independence so no great issues there...However, personally speaking I feel that Politicians shd have a minimum educational qualification to take up any responsible post ! We have had a near illiterate in Rabri Devi run a state with the blessings of Ally Congress at the center, so, anything goes in this country of ours, so why point fingers at Smriti Irani now ? opinions differ as this link for another article on the same subject proves....Even Tagore never finished school!!!!

You forgot to make your link live :)

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Even Bill gates under whom many highly qualified persons  are working was a school dropout. Low qualification will not be hindrance as long as the ability part lies intact.

This country will never take a single step ahead. The sole purpose of discussion of politicians is criticism and leg pulling of ruling party. What all we discuss is how to dethrone the ruling party.

Educational qualifications like graduation or post-graduation need not be the criteria for determining the ministerial competence. They should be intelligent, honest and should perform their duties sincerely, with a heart full of commitment to the people who elected them.

Education qualification not alone but overall experience- duration and quality, aptitude all these matter. Here problem remains because the concerned minister is not qualified in any sense- academic or non academic, experience or aptitude.
