"Most people do not listen with the intent to understand. Most people listen with the intent to reply."

Ask yourself if you're truly listening to others or if you're being distracted by your own chatter. Sometimes, listening means staying silent to give others a chance to talk, soaking it in, then perhaps responding if your response is needed.

A good habit. It says you are giving a space to others to express their views.

I do not listen to their talk only but look into their eyes to judge their inner views too, that's how I was traind at my business school.

Even that attitude of yours is also praise worthy.

I do listen to others patiently and take my to respond for what they said.

Unless you listen attentively, you can't reply.  In fact, listening is more important than replying. Often, it is best to listen and not argue unless necessary. Good listening is essence of maintaining better relations as well getting knowledge. You can get knowledge by listening and not by arguing.

Very true. Most of the people resort to arguments without listening what they are speaking. Both the parties speak simultaneously without hearing what the other is saying. Ultimately leading to chaotic nonsense.

Even in many T.V shows or political discussions as they call are rather chaotic and argument filled rather than informative and productive talk. I listen to the other person and give him the importance when he is speaking as he has some experience or knowledge backing his opinion and i respect it. If there is any differentiation we need to reply by saying the point we want to defer and give our explanation.

Life is like a boat in a sea, there is a lot to learn, so never close your mind to your limited experiences!

A wise thing you are doing. Listening constitutes an important component in the system of effective communication.

I listen to without opening mouth, though I take due care for environmental conditions such as air , wind, sounds so that these should not break the flow of talk.
