We should be careful while using these electrical machines. Even when we are using switches at our home, we should be careful and should not touch it with wet hands. ATM is for public use, so it becomes the responsibility of the authorities that they provide shock proof machines.

Only for the reasons of safety in all respects both financial and health, I stopped using ATMs. As far as getting shock if electrical things are touched with a wet hand, is a common precautionary measure for all including ATMs.

ATM machines are usually safe but this particular one may have had faulty wiring and so the poor man got electrocuted . While we have full sympathy for the man, the thing is people do fail to observe all rules of safety, it is common knowledge that one should not tough electrical equipments while wet. and yet people do associate an ATM as being an electrical equipment. there is also another important fact that the banks do not strictly follow safety rules and procedures simply to cut down on costs,.

Criminal negligence and Who cares attitude of the Banks is clear. How on earth, the banks can think of such a blunder of not earthing on a public utility system, is beyond me.

True...another example of their negligence and pinching pennies is not appointing proper security guards due to which so many examples of robbing people in the ATMs have happened. This ti,e, it resulted in loss of life but in India, lives come much cheaper!

I agree with you. Guardless ATM are seen more and more of late. So the Banks save money at the cost of another human life !!! What a sorry state of affairs. !!
