You have old car that does not give you proper sale value. There is proposal that may let you dump your old vehicle and get up to Rs. 1.50 lakh. Indeed a good proposal to dispose old vehicles.

A good proposal. According to the proposal, those vehicles in working condition can be retro-fitted with li-ion batteries and resold in the market — alternately, automotive scrap may be recycled for industrial use.

That sounds very attractive especially the rebate you get if and when you buy a new vehicle after handing over the old one...we have two old junks which we still use and at least one could easily be got rid off , if we get even half the amount ..

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Another advantage is, instead of dumping and increasing the Junk, in the neighborhood if the price fetched is good, it is good. A good proposal.

I have read that proposal in another rference that 1.5 lac offer is for trucks bt for cars it begins with 30 thousands.

The issue of pollution is serious and has to be addressed. What the minister wants is to provide incentives to vehicle owners to discard old, polluting vehicles and then retro-fit them with batteries. It is profitable to the old car users and works effectively for clearing the pollution especially in big metropolises.

Its not the metros but the smaller cities where most of the old vehicals are dumped and this problem needs to be addressed on warfooting. We have closed to 30k old auto rikshaw older than thirty yeras emmiting carbon and we are inhailing that poison. All these rikshaws havebeen discarded from Delhi.
