After passing the bill, calling a Dalit by his cast name or stopping him to enter a temple is crime.

It goes only to show that even after so many decades of education, reforms, laws, a large section of our society continues to practice caste system and harass and insult poor personsvof the so called lower castes, that fresh laws have to be made. it is so deep rooten in our social fabric.

It is definitely welcome to bring social equality. But reference to entry in temples is funny. Temples are Hindu places of worship. Caste system or varna vyavastha is integral part of Hindu. So, if somebody is opposed to caste system, he will not enter temple at all. That is why Dr. Ambedkar advised the Dalits or so called lower castes to quit Hindu and join Budddhist religion.

Calling a Dalit person publicly by the name of his or her caste, stopping the Dalits from entering a temple or even forcing them to vote in favor of a particular candidate will soon land the perpetrator behind bars. The Bill is intended to stop the atrocities against Dalits and Tribals. I hail this as a Landmark Bill.

After 60 odd years of secularism practiced by the communal party of India we still need a bill to give justice to some people who are born into different communities ! Pathetic !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Doesn't it show our erstwhile rulers in their true colors? I was surprised to hear when RG said he was stopped entering in a temple in Assam. Does it sound real? He is not a Dalit but will he file a case under this rule?

Why lower caste? By birth all are equal. This bill will do the task of dividing our community. Dalits don't want to listen their caste name but want to take reservation by their caste name.

Not now. The erstwhile rulers long ago shown their true colors. Which is why they were thrown into the Garbage cans.

I think the need is to take these words out of the law-book and make every one equal. Awhile later maybe the word Dalit will be a forbidden word as it means the same and indicative at one's cast. Why divide the society by giving them different names? Should I object to if someone calls me by my surname?

Dalit word is only in books. Only never listed that some call some one Dalit. Dalit also have some surname and we always used it. it is all rubbish thing to dalit is not allowed to enter in the temples. Dalit word is not written on the forhead of lower cast peoples. I never listen in my city that some one is stopped to enter in the temples because he/she is from lower cast. Treating some one equal is matter of nous not of law. How can some one force me to have dinner with some one if don't like it.

When Mahatma Gandhi called  Lower casts as " Harijans", the atrocities on Harijans did stop ? Removing the word " Dalits " from law books is not the solution. The only solution is the change of attitude towards Dalits.
