 People with fair skin is very rare in Tamil Nadu. Muslims, Brahmins and people from other states are mainly the people with fair skin. Therefore, the bride-grooms are ready to marry brides with dark skin. They have no option to choose brides with fair skin.

Cold climate conditions exist in parts of India also.

YOu have summed up the character of the Europeans very well. You only have to view a single episode on the Nat Geo or Discovery and the evidence is there, to what extent they are ready to endure and face hardships for doing something they really love.

Yes Kalyani, every discovery and invention has a white man behind it...and as far as adventure goes they take such great risks, not even caring for their own lives !

Many Bollywood actress are form Tamil Nadu and other South Indian states, most of them are fair skin. Color of North India peoples are alike South Indian, except residence of J&K and Himachal Pradesh.

 

@Usha and @ Kalyani have mutually agreed that white persons are adventurous and carefree in taking risks. Yes that is how it comes out in the final TV presentations. One of the main  reason is that they belong to a few capital rich countries where finances are liberally available for supporting such activities. In the process they make documentaries which are seen worldwide and earn revenue. Imagine an Indian wants to make such documentary. Who will support his venture? As of today I do not think presently any system exists where crores of rupees will be given to shoot such themes as are shown in Discovery and similar channels. Till such time we will continue to be entertained by white skin people. Also we spend our energy on secularism, communalism, nationalism, casteism, regionalism etc issues leaving little energy on exploration or similar activities. 

The very fact that we look up to them for language, education and lifestyle shows that they are superior in some ways...Having lived for a number of years in the west I have also realised that there are some qualities they possess which are truly worthy like time sense and priority and an inherent sense of justice and fairness, this inspite of many of them being racial. At governmental levels they are very fair ..
