Hindus are in African countries! This is a new and surprising news to me. How Hinduism reached in Africa? I thought that Hindu religion is only in India and Nepal and people in Africa are Christians.

Please have a look at this link article . Your doubts will be cleared.

Now I understood how Hinduism spread in Africa. There are some plus points also as a result of the arrival of Britishers in India.

What are those plus points ? Please discuss and enlighten the discussion Forums.

Perhaps what Jincy meant was that Hinduism reached Africa in form of indentured Hindu labour by the British during the colonial period. They settled there and thus Hinduism exists. Hindus do not spread it like Christians and Islam do by inducements or forcing people to convert. That is the strength and also weakness of Hinduism.

You are right. Hindus migrated to Africa. Earlier, Sindhi settlers migrated to Ghana. After partition, more Hindus reached Ghana. It was mostly due to the efforts of Swami Ghanananda Saraswati, Hindu migration has become more,

Britishers' arrival in India is the reason for spreading of Hindu religion in African countries. Britishers had some colonies in African countries and they recruited some Indians in such colonies as employees. Some of them were not ready to come back to India and settled in Africa. All these happened as a result of the Britishers' arrival in India. Is this a plus point?

It was a plus point for British then and now is a plus point for the progeny's of the initial migrants.

Yes, you are right. the prime reason for reaching of Hinduism in Africa is the recruitment of Indian people in their African colonies. There are so many Gods in Hindu religion. Worshiping and satisfying all these Gods are not easy. This is a complicated process. It may be one of the reasons why Hinduism do not spread like Christianity and Islam.
