Rakhi Ka Insaaf- fatal justice

Rakhi Ka Insaaf is a popular reality show. Justice is done by rakhi Savant posing as judge. Recently, one participant committed suicide because Rakhi chided him using the term 'impotent' or namard for him.

AN F.I.R. has been lodged against Rakhi. But what is rakhi's fault. The participants voluntarily attended the reality show that was for public viewing. Rakhi neither summoned them nor had this power vested in her. The participants attended the show for their own publicity and satisfaction and Rakhi did not force them to appear on the TV show. The publicity of this kind can also give adverse results for which participants are themselves to blame.

    The remarks by Rakhi were indeed offensive and may be unpalatable. I personally dislike the reality shows. The language used in Big Boss is so offensive that children are learning foul language.

    The participants on such shows have no business to complain. The viewers are the only segment who may feel aggrieved. Thus, the relatives of person who participated in 'Rakhi Ka Insaaf' cannot justly complain about the show even though we may have sympathy for the participating victim.

    I too personally don't like Rakhi.But in this case she seems to be innocent.The fault is with the participant.Why they try to find solutions to their problems in reality shows?

    The question here is not whether Rakhi is innocent or not, irrespective of whether the participants came of their own will or were summoned by the producers of the show, there remains the fact that Rakhi's language is indeed foul and vulgar! We cannot ask for completely banning such shows, because there is a particular class of viewers who want to watch them, but there should be some kind of set guidelines and norms depending on the usage of powers vested in anchors like Rakhi and the language being used by them.

    I won't comment on the class of viewers who derive great pleasure at someboy's discomfiture but I believe there is an element of unrealness in these reality shows and if anything happens that takes somebody's life one has to sit up and take note of it!!

    If a person feels the anchor's comments are abusive he/she must be straight forward to show that it hurts them.It is a cowardly act to suicide.

    I agree with you that there is a certain degree of unreal elements in these shows, and if it is proved that the death of the person is linked with the treatment meted out to him by Rakhi, then certianly there should be judicial action against her as well as the producers of the show!
