Why are aged people sent to old age homes, the number is increasing day by day

    it is so because their children which are big now and able to manage the family are treating them burden only.this is very bad part of us.

    Old age homes are a result of weakening of joint family system. The children move to different places for job and the old are left behind. Many are financially and physically weak and they get better care in old age homes.

    These days people have no time to care either for children or oldies. Children are sent to day care center and elders to old age homes.

    The present generation is in such way that they have no time to spend or look after their parents or grand parents and some are just throwing their elders out and enjoying their elders property

    It is no use blaming current conditions. Old age homes are a fact of life. If an aged lives even in his own house all alone, this is like living in old age home.

    It is no use cursing the current situation. It is better to improve the old age home conditions.

    It is the present trend to ignore relations and care. So in some way parents are ignored in this way as children think they are burden on them. However, sick old people need care and due to lack of time due to work children are opting for this option.

    People are busy with projects and hardly find any time to look after the elders at home. To be frank enough everybody finds it difficult to run with the time. so home age home are developing to look after the aged people. Atleast there they will get love, affection and respect.

    I think older homes are better than living with family now a days, I'm from Australia and lives in an aged home. My kids did find me a burden on their shoulders. They visit here one ever they want we spend quality time together. Now a days it's like a normal trend to have own house and where you can live with your privacy.
