All do not vote. There are many who think that the major Indian political parties have similar policy and are equally corrupt and inefficient. So, it makes no difference which way you vote. So they remain neutral and do not vote.

Apart from the reasons cited by Gulshan, the mass illiteracy prevalent in India is one of the contributory factors behind low turnout. In fact there was a very serious debate before granting universal franchise in India.Dr Rajagopalachari was in favour of an electoral college and his views were ignored. Thus the right to vote came to the general people of India before they were ready for it.That proved very handy for corrupt political parties and their leaders. it is not the enlightened choice of the voter but the money and muscle which in many cases work behind casting of his or her vote.
wats the main purpose of voting?
the main thing here comes best politician to be elected.
if the competing persons are all currupt ones then wat is the purpose of voting .
Maybe the people started to think..
Now we need real politicians who are willing to serve people rather than considering politics as a high income profession...

Whatever be the level of literacy and awareness, we cannot give up parliamentary democracy based on adult franchise. The current sate of affairs is definitely bad. It flows from the well known rule- "People get the government they deserve." The majority of people are less or semi educated, caste oriented and also dishonest. so they cannot get good government. Let us us hope that in course of time, things would change. The first thing to do is to fight castism and personality cult. If these two are eliminated, things would change.

Every one says

Educated people should come into politics

But noone thinkslike this

If there is qualification for the person to become politician then no uneducated person should be there in politics
I do not understand why some people do not vote but finally they are the person who stands In a beetle shop and discuss that Government is not doing anything
