China ahead in Science- says Prime Minister

President Obama of U.S.A. fears that Indians and chines will overtake the american students in Science and technology. Now P.M. Manmohan Singh is worried that china has a clear lead over India in Science.

China leads in many areas. We should go for healthy competition by finding out why we lag behind. Apparently, reservation, capitation fee are main obstacles to merit in Science. also, it appears that education in India is for catering to needs of the foreign employers and not for India's progress. That is why we are very poor in fundamental research. There are very few students for pure Science like M.Sc. and very few will get Ph.d in Science. In china, there is great stress on basic and fundamental science. Naturally, they are bound to lead.

    The way Chinese products are getting popular in INDIAN market it looks they are going great in technology too and the way they are going one day surely will go ahead of US.Fear of Obama is alright in my opinion. :)

    That is absolutely right, we are 'manufacturing' doctors and engineers en-mass on our taxpayers cost to cater to the use of other developed countries. Our country spends on their education where as others are utilizing their talent. We are left with people who are doing routine jobs.
