It is really a great idea to know about proverbs of all regional languages, including Hindi. Let us make it a learning tool and share some new ideas.
Let me start with 3 such proverbs with English translation. Can you add some more?

1. Minnunnathellaam Ponnalla - All that glitters are not gold(No change in meaning from English)
2. Muttathe Mullakku Manamilla/Akkara Paccha.......(Jasmine at our courtyard has no perfume/Only the other shore is green) Meaning.....We never see what's in our hand, we search it somewhere else.
3. Paavathinte Kanjiyil Paattayidaruth (Don't put cock roach in poor man's Kanji-food of poor people). Meaning...live and let live!

    "Mongaanirunna pattiyude thalayail theenga veenu".....(A dog was sitting thinking about a reason to cry. A coconut fell on his head and he got a reason for crying)....ha ha...a funny one

    Example : if there 2 people, and one is good and the other is bad. But this bad person makes the good person as bad one.

    Even a poison-less snake is enough to make supper waste. (i.e. we can't eat that food....isn't it, even if a useless creature falls on it)...ha ha
    Meaning- Even useless fellows can make our day a waste......

    vatti matala valla pottalu ninduthayya - only talking does not give us anything. by working we get something useful.
