GK questions in Polls

I am seeing a few GK questions in polls. Posting GK questions in polls is not advisable.

    A poll can not be made to suit the voters. As long as a poll is according to rules and falls in appropriate category, we cannot object.

    I think Sridevi you are right because polls are basically to obtain opinions about different things from the members and to check GK of the members where still people give wrong answer and make a GK question into poll.lol

    But I think there should some poll moderation because even I have raised similar question in the past that people are not following poll rules.

    If members are that interested in Quiz Question that there should be separate section for quiz question because after all it is information sharing site and having separate section for quiz will be a good thing.

    These people might be inspired after watching similar posts in the past which were also quiz question.

    The polls are basically for gathering opinion. We may have different opinions on controversial matters. However, in matter of general knowledge, there is only one right answer. So, only one option is correct. Consequently, general knowledge questions are not suitable for polls. Moreover, points earned are same for right as well as wrong choice. My views given earlier be kindly treated as modified to this extent.

    User who post poll regarding GK should give its answer in comments. So, that he can cross-check its answer :)

    This is a good suggestion, bhanu. But it will be better that GK matters are not included in polls.

    The issue of featuring GK type of polls came up earlier too and I remember most of the members including myself disapproved the idea because it defeats the very purpose of poll which is to ascertain sense of a large body of people on a topical issue.But to my great amusement I find a member featuring GK and quizzical question in polls with great gusto!

    Most of the polls are for point earning.I felt at the time of joining this site that most polls are irrelevent and rediculous.So I keeps away from them.I had raised this issue many times.No answer from authority.

    Well Abid, I don't agree that boddunan team does not respond. It is already decided that all the polls will be moderated going forward and the system is in place as well. We are going to start it on pilot basis from tomorrow.

    I do agree with Sreedevi. Polls are for knowing the opinion of some one about something, not to evaluate his GK..
