I am really shocked to know that milk is not vegetarian. Gulshaniji can you please explain how milk is not vegetarian

There is nothing wrong taking milk from religious or ethical angle. If you do not like the term 'non veg', you may say that milk is an animal product. As this is not obtained from tree or plant, this is not vegetarian. Honey is also not a vegetarian product as this is obtained from bees and does not grow on trees.

From religious and ethical viewpoints, meat and eggs are prohibited. But animal products like milk and honey are okay.

Non veg food like eggs, fish, chicken are good for health. But from religious and ethical angle, many will not eat these. So, they take alternate products like fruits, veg, milk and milk products.

Well egg is non veg though every egg don't have chicks. :)
Eggs do not grow on trees nor are grown on land. These are animal products and hence non veg. even milk is not veg in true sense.

I have a different opinion and i don't think milk to be non veg as there is no flesh in it. I have heard that eatable that contains flesh or have something which may convert in to living being is non veg. Though i agree milk is an animal product. :)

Some people consider even fish as veg in Bengal mostly but eggs and fish are non-veg items.
