Power corrupts. Even the gods are not exception.
The persons are neither normal nor honest. the true character is revealed after getting opportunity. Most of our people are dishonest. First, you need to give big donation to a party for getting ticket/ nomination. Where will this donation come from and who is so 'honest' and 'normal' as not to recover his donation + after winning election.

Normally a honest person has no scope in politics as it begins with dishonest means. If you have big money to offer to party chief, you can expect to stand in queue for election ticket. Once a person spending huge amount reaches to a position, he tries to recover it with profit so do not expect honesty in traditional parties showing any signs of honesty. There maybe a difference of grading/scale but you don't find honesty in politics any more.

In fact, getting party ticket is like submitting tender. All main stream parties indulge in such practice. There is also a way to know about party prospects. The tickets of party with better prospects are costlier. Here one point is worth notice. You need not be a party worker or even sympathizer to get party ticket. You need only pay price.

Honest people are always honest, be it whatever situation may be, in this instance, these people are not honest at all, as they are allured to money and shed their honesty.

No certainly not, one must not belong to even same party but most candidates come from big business houses having tons of monies at their disposal. Sometimes they come from erstwhile royal families, film world, relative of politicians etc.

One M.P. from Agra was formerly a Samajvadi Party M.P. Now he is BSP M.P. His close relative is associated with BJP. These people just assess which party ticket will be more helpful and whether the ticket price is reasonable. For them BJP, BSP, SP, Congress are only brand names like soap or toiletries. This shows how much party label matters. .

Thats true. If one is really honest he will not enter in to politics. Even if he enters politics by accident, he will not survive.

If you have quoted an example, let me tell you a big colonizer who started his carrier as MLA from Meerut city changed to SP following his brother bigger business tycoon in a place near Lucknow . In between they both joined BSP where the big brother won but the one in Meerut lost. This time they are with SP and waiting to see the way wind blows. Almost every one in politics is waiting for the same. because here principles count least but self-interests are on top of other motto.

History of Indian Politics is replete with such examples. Fence sitters and floor crossers are abundant. First they start as independents and then they smell the wind which way it blows (As you said above). Then the great exodus starts.
