Are you satisfied with Railway Budget 2014 by Modi Govt?

Our Railways are in a bad condition. After independence, no noteworthy reforms are done resulting in Railways being the most obsolete mode of travel in the country. I'm satisfied because, the budget gives importance to modernization and safety.

Poor Indian Railways, they are blamed for increasing fares and today they were blamed for not increasing fares in recent past. IR are easily the cheapest to travel in the world. From a cash strapped railways to expect world class service is not proper. Still the budget has made announcements for speedier trains and better stations and improved facilities on trains and stations. Within an hour or so of a train commencing its journey the passengers start littering the compartments and then keep blaming the railways for uncleanliness. Stations are treated like open dustbins by passengers and the millions who come to see them off. Hypocracy at its best !!

it is the rail users who need to be reformed first.

It is probably the most realistic budget ever since there is no show of pleasing people and unlike it happend in the prebvious 10 years announcing 300 odd new projects out of which they have implemented and completed only one ...Thankfully Modi and his team have realised that they cannot deliver by giving populistic measures that neither work nor can be made to work which is what the previous UPA govt did ...I am now really looking forward to the annual budget !

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Modi was saying right from the beginning that his government will stop using Populist schemes. This is reflected in the Rail Budget.

I agree with @ Usha Manohar it is the most realistic budget ever and this time Odisha does not have many trains but the older projects over 30 years old gets money, it is the most significant and realistic budget.

Many projects that were promised by the previous governments and remaining in the cold storage are being given priority in this budget. Above all the most needed safety and security aspects which were never cared for and digitalization of Railways are the issues this budget is addressing to.

Thats it you see,, they want to finsih all the unfinished projects announced and left high and dry by the previous UPA government mostly during Lalus tenure , which spows that this government is committed , not wants to stay in power simply for the sake of it.Let us hope that this enthusiasm and commitment carries through and not become a one day wonder !

The railway budget looks doable and implementable ..but still a long way to go. But peice by peice work will entail good progress rather than raising the hope of the masses by false promises and theoretical commitments.

Instead of biting more than what you can swallow and fall flat, its better to gulp bit by bit. Small incremental development survives. That's the aim of the Railway budget.
