    The most valid document is your real birth certificate issued by municipality's death and birth department (you can have it issued) even today at an extra fees. The second one is your high school certificate but getting a birth certificate from municipal office is as easy as 123. It takes 2-3 days and under thousand rupees.

    Any document which has your date of birth mentioned in it is generally asked for..such as school mark sheet.

    Any Passport office will provide the info about the documents needed for applying for a Paasprt, in a jiffy.

    For age proof you have to provide either birth certificate or your SSLC marks card or in case there is no valid record like it happens in villages wher often a chid is delivered at home and people dont bother to apply for a birth certificate...One can apply for it at any of the Muncipal offices where they give you a certificate within 2 weeks , you may need to get Tahshildars signature on an affidavit and and other proofs to show that you were born on that particular day..

    Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

    Sorry, but I didn't quite understand when you said....confident answer. Probably you should rephrase your question to get better answers. But what I understand from your question is that you wanted to know which document can be used as a proof of one's age? Please correct my if am wrong.

    Birth certificate issued by municipal office or your high school certificate. If you want to get a bith certificate issued by municipal office there are many agents sitting outside there they will arrange everything in minutes and have it issued with in three days for a fee under 1000/ (Unofficial).
