Lower castes want revenge against upper castes, Hindus want Muslims to behave as per their desire, upper castes pass judgements left and right, what is happening?

Once you give up rational thought and secularism ,there is no end of the road for self destruction and disintegration.  There is no alternative to secularism in India. Let religion not be mixed with politics. The Hindutva forces target the non Hindus and thrust their ideology on others. This is boomeranging as the so called Hindutva is facing disintegration within itself.  Let us all go according to constitution of India and the contents of scriptures and mythology be treated just as fairy tales and nothing more.  The Durga- Mahishasur and Hiranakashyap- Prahalad- Holika stories also need be taken only as tales and there is no need to fight for these.   As long as you mix religion and politics, such infighting cannot be stopped.

Had mythologies like Ramayana and Mahabharata are mere fairy tales, why prestigious Business schools like Wharton Business school of the USA, the Indian Business School of Hyderabad and many Indian Institutes of Management would include in their curriculum ?. They are the treasure chests of  Managerial knowledge. They teach lessons on Leadership, management and Governance. Professor Rajeshwar Upadhyaya  has included Ramayana and other epics in a course on " Leadership lessons from World literature."

Please do not drag Ramayana and Mahabharta into religious polarization as they are indeed wonderful epics without any bias towards anyone. They speak of human nature which is universal. It is itrelevant to this thread.

Actually you may argue like this with me and others in forum. But my point is that if we treat the scriptures and other holy books as true, we cannot avoid conflicts between warring Hindu groups. There are different versions of Ramayana also. One such book is 'sachi Ramayana'  which is considered blasphemous by those having faith in Tulsi Das Ramayana. The lower castes are aggrieved that Rama killed Shambook sage just because Vishwamitra wanted this. It is to avoid such disputes among the different groups of Hindus that we need treat these scripture lightly just as fairy tales. Even then there is no harm if you can learn something from the scriptures or mythological tales.

So in effect we should be treating Koran, Bible, Guru Granth Sahib and all the rest as fairy tales, and will those religious groups agree to this suggestion, most probably some of them would go on a strike, the so called sicularists of our country go up in arms and some issue a fatwah against the one who dares to say so about their scriptures ..

The Mahabharata contains philosophical and devotional matters, such as discussions of the Four Goals of Life. Purusharthas of life. Among the principal works and stories in the Mahabharata is the Bhagvad Gita. Dismissing  Epics as mere Fairy tales is not right.

Both the epics are in fact Management books written in unique Indian style and have stood the test of time. They should not be seen as merely religious texts which they are not. That they belong to Hinduim is a tribute to it.

Now Pope has said that there is no hell fire and there were no Adam and eve.  In Hindu religion, there are two sets of scriptures/ books. Some contain philosophy or knowledge. These are Vedas, Vedanta, Meemaansa etc. There are also Puranas, which are stories. There are different characters in Puranas, about which there is difference of opinion. Different sections/ castes believe in conflicting versions. Treating these as tales/ stories will lessen the tension. Also, we can learn a lot even from stories. By treating Ramayana and Mahabharata as stories, you don't lose the capacity to learn from these. We learn much from stories also. There is famous book 'Panch Tantra' containing many stories using animals as characters. The stories were for teaching princes statecraft.

So in effect you will not speak directly when it comes to a certain group, which is clear by your long winded explanation which most of us Hindus already know ! usual double standards !
