There are so many reports that prices of fruits and vegetables have shot up to huge levels, in Telengana, mainly because the new Capital of AP, has eaten away thousands of acres of highly fertile agricultural land.

Even when the Chief Minister of AP, Mr Chandrababu Naidu came out with his rather stupid plan of converting huge tracts of fertile agricultural land to build the new Capital, there was a big opposition from many quarters.  However, he had gone ahead with his plan, and has now landed the State of AP and the neighboring State in huge trouble.

We should never destroy rich agricultural land.  Wherever such lands have been used for other purposes, the results have always been disastrous.  Let us stop this horrible practice.  We do not need development of this kind.  The best of economists and environmentalists should join together and ensure that such disasters do not happen again.

It is not in Telengana, it is story of every states. It is time to passed a rule, that don't touch fertile land. I want green land and blue sky. Oppose this policy as you can.

Development at the cost of agriculture is a short term development and will only prove disastrous in the long run. Already when the population is exploding at an alarming rate leading to unemployment and food shortage, the solution to these problems can only be found in sustainable agriculture methods, which unfortunately does not bring quick money and hence, is being thrown aside carelessly.

I'm from AP. What the thread Poster said about Agriculture is wrong and misleading. CM of AP has already taken up the Polavaram project which is going to revolutionize the Farmer's and farming not only in the state, but in the entire Country. I request the thread poster to come up with realities, not rumors.

Development plans do need land and these are available from agricultural lands. Some disruption has to take place. Farm productivity keeps going up every year due to better quality seeds, spread of irrigation, mechanisation leading to increased yields. So no need to fear.

True. Better quality seeds and improved methods in Farming employing Modern methods will certainly boosts Farm productivity. In AP, Farmers are provided with all those amenities required by the State Government.

In mid1970's India's food grain production was around 95 million tons today it is around260 million tons on reduced farm land area.

Ot is population explosion that is raising demand for land for all purposes- residence, institutes, roads, factories and so on. Consequently land for forests, wild animals, agriculture, plantation is getting reduced. Moreover there is concentration of purchasing power in few hands. So there is more production of items for the rich at cost of poor people.

Chandra Babu Naidu has only grandoise schemes in a country that is developing and has so many problems. Even the Polavaram project has so many negativities like the displacement of several hundred villages amounting to more than 3 lakh people and the worst criticism is that it will supply water to already irrigated , water rich areas ..Some of our politicians seem to be floating in a make belief world of their own,  rather than have their feet firmly on the ground.

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Same can be said about another divine leader !!!

yes very true and why they should not use the modern way of farming, there are many reason for using modern technology and whereas about not using the modern technology there is no reason.
