    Both sides in a relationship are happy if they have their say and are respected for that. The same holds true for parent child relationship. Parents should be  loving authorities and not dictators. Sometimes over-obedience in children might indicate a building mine fold of frustration and low self esteem within the child and it manifests in a very damaging way in a long run. 

    All I want to say is each individual deserves respect irrespective of his age and children need respect as much as they need love.
