Here I would like to draw everyone's attention to the theory of multiple intelligence of Gardener. It talks about 8 intelligences...interpersonal communication skill being one of them. So people with this dominating intelligence are very social.

so it is just changing the mindset of intelligence and widening our scope to see it.

Absolutely , although it is believed that intelligent , here I would like to add academcally intelligent people tend to be not very social , man brilliant minds who are probably at a different level altogether are able to balance many more qualities including social skills

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

I do not know if there is any truth to this statement. I have seen a lot of highly intelligent people being social and mingling with people. It's just that they plan their activities as per schedule and that could be a reason for not spending too much time socializing.

A very intelligent and well informed person is bound to occupy himself/herself with far more productive activities rather than socialize a lot. It is only those who have time on hand and others who gain something out of socializing that like to socialise and be seen at gathering s, attend parties etc etc

Weather a person is social and mingling or not is depends on nature of person. Some persons are of reserve nature. They do not like to mixup with others Intelligent person always like to live in contact with in group of peoples who is similar to them.
