The poor orphans near the railway statons now has been addicted to the very cheaply and easily available drug in every shop...

It is nothing other that Eraz-ex...
This is used to paint on the documents, inorder to avoid mistakes...

Near the JammiGunta Railway station in Andhra Pradesh, it is observed that the kids are being addicted to this drug.. :(

This is very sad. I think the product should be banned altogether. Normally, erasures are forbidden on documents but people use the erasers to unlawfully tamper with the documents. It is sad that apart from tampering with the documents, the erasers are also used as drug by children.

parents truly do want to let kids have what they want. Mostly we want our kids to have the special things, even independence and autonomy. But when we are confident the child is not yet able to handle the level of independence and autonomy s/he wants, it is what is called between a rock and a hard place. Refusal of things very special to the child can lead to the child isolating him/herself from the parents. And when a child has isolated him/herself, his/her thinking can muddle and inherently turn to self pity or feelings of sorrow for him/herself, and even anger.

Continued concentration on denying the child his/her deep wants can change the feelings which grew in isolation into rebellion. This may be especially true when the child is convinced "I'm not a child." While you might agree s/he is no longer a child physically, you know s/he is emotionally and mentally immature. The family dysfunction caused by rebellion left unchecked for too long will almost invariably result in division of the family

Taking this as advantage, the shop keepers near the railway stations are keeping a stock of this...

They are selling this for a very high price... :(

Thanks 'n' Regards,

Just horrible to know! The sale of this kind of product should be immediately banned. Thanks Deepti for bringing it to our knowledge!
Hmm --- The little poor orphan kids are using this to get instant satisfaction and spoiling their health.. :(

Thanks for sharing this Deepti, although addiction to the Eraz-ex commonly called as whitener is quite old! Addiction to the whitener is more rampant among the slum children for mainly one reason, which is that sniffing this whitener gives them a high feeling of euphorism and blunts out the hunger pangs!

Very nice points Sumit but are applicable in cases of children with families and a bit of money to spare. This is not applicable to the slum children, a kind of culture which is very much inhuman beyond our imaginations.

Thats true Kalyani... And these chemicals are very dangerous to intake..

These are taken into the soft cloth and the smell of it is taken by them...
If the liquid is mixed with water and taken in, it gives the feeling of having a quarter..

What a shame on the shopkeepers who are encouraging the poor innocent slum kids for their benefits.. :(

Thanks 'n' Regards,
Deepti.
Yes, I have seen this kind of problem in our railways, A company manufactured Eraz-ex mix a slight percentage of drug to white written substances, But this children use it as a drugs, many times children caught by police as thief. This children accept that they are stealing thing to buy some erax-ex from stationary.
Oh!this is really pathetic. There must be some organisations who educate the slum children on the ill effects of using this drug.
Children are gifts of god. Some children lose their innocence and they learn all illegal activities at a very early age. Whom to blame on? The society or the parents?
