This was a good topic for GD.Any how let me to give some of my opinions.
1) In scientific world India has a good past, present and future.
We were the first to introduce the concept of zero in Mathematics. We were the first to have the idea of Ayurveda. We were the first to have a scientist as President of a country.

Given below are not the only reasons for me to be proud of our country. These are just snippets.

1) Old is gold : In this fast moving world we are still preserving our traditions, rituals etc.
2) Family system : In spite of western culture dominating us, the family system still exists in india.
3) Diversity : We have different languages and customs.
4) Yoga : Nowadays yoga is getting more popularity in western countries. But it was originated and practiced in india many years ago.
5) Accepting all people : Heart of Indians are very big. We have accepted a non-Indian as the leader of our ruling government. I don't wish to say whether it is right or wrong. It is our generousity.

I am proud of India's culture and contibution to mathematics. I am also proud of mahatma Gandhi's contribution to the entire world as well as Indians' contribution to richness of english language. But I can not be rather ashamed of deep rootd corruption, dowry system, child marriage, rapes and ill treament of deprivd classes. As patriot, we must contribute to national progress but there is no point in false pride on undesirable traits.

Yes i m proud to be an indian, because i ahve done so much good works for my country and my country is so much special in all over the world... Our country's people hai heart and feelings, but some bad people are making darkness on recpect of our country..
Yes, we have a rich cultural background.. lots of rivers, flaura and fauna with pleasing climate..the first to give the world the concept of zero, which is the basis of all aritmetic and the computer languages.. unity in diversity..
and last, but not the least, we are born in India:)
India is a great country and Youth of India are very talented ! But i am not particularly proud on 2 aspects relating to Youth .
One > The education quality (though our books have greater depth than any other country) lacks practical orientation. That is what i experienced. How well you understand something is important than how much you learn.

Second > Improper Recruitment. There are many talented students in various categories but still are idle and those without much talents somehow get an excellent job. Proper methods should be followed to recruit people based on skills and not exam marks.
i'm proud of india because this is a land of rich culture and heritage.
Yes I feel proud to be an Indian... I am proud of my country India.

Yet I feel ashamed for the corrupt politicians who become billionaire after becoming ministers.
