Minor maid tortured with iron

Mumbai, Nov 22: 38-year-old house wife, who is accused of torturing her 13-year-old domestic help with a hot iron, has been missing from Mumbai's Powai area from Sunday, Nov 21.

Madhurima Manocha allegedly punished the minor domestic help after her young child got burnt while the made was ironing the family's clothes and Manocha later thrashed the girl outside their home on Nov 20.

The minor girl was noticed by a taxi driver, who later brought her to a social worker and finally they filed a police complaint.

Police registered a case against Manocha under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) as police official also informed, "On getting to know about the incident, our team went to Manocha’s flat but the door was locked. We are looking for her."

    The incident is very pathetic and speaks volume about inhuman bent of mind in some so called higher strata of society. It is heartening however that police case has been filed and the culprit woman had to escape.
