The usage of the words Inspite and Despite are done in what type of situations. Can anyone elobrate with an example.

Inspite and despite are very similar words they used according to situtaion
You may use 'In spite of' or 'Despite'. There are no different situations for using these. For example:

In spite of ample warning, Hari could not reach school in time.

Despite ample warning, Hari could not reach school in time.

I think no they are not synonyms but often used as per situation demand.

Rajani, in spite of and despite are synonyms. Just be careful that you don't use despite of and in despite of as they totally differ in meaning. Example given by Gulshanji is good.

Language develops according to usage and not made by some one. Hence, there are different ways to say the same thing.

I may give some examples: When you wish to state- resulting from, you may also say:

Consequently, In consequence of, consequent to.

By luck, Luckily, As luck would have it.
