    The best reason is, friday is the day of Godess Lakshmi. If they release on that day they will get Lakshmi and they believe that they will get continuously money from that they on wards

    Release on Fridays is also for maintaining uniformity and ease of administration. The Film producers, Distributors and exhibitors all know that movies are released on Fridays and so they plan their work accordingly.

    Friday is the release day for most of the films in India. However some films do release even on Thursday. I think the weekend factor comes here into play as most of the schools and even some offices remains closed during the weekends on Saturdays and Sundays...!
