I have also asked the same question myself, several times. I am also very excited to know its answer.

Amruth is related to Hindu mythology. That may be the reason why, British dictionary don't have that word.(????)

By, in many text books, I have read it as nectar.

Meera sandhu
There is a similar word in Greek mythology, Ambrosia which is sometimes the food or drink of the Greek gods (or demigods), often depicted as conferring ageless immortality upon whoever consumes it

In Trivandrum, there is a very famous Cafeteria named Ambrosia  .
Now only I understand its meaning.

Amrutham, amruth or amrit is mythological drink that makes you immortal. This was found by churning milky ocean (samudra manthan) by gods and demons. It is believed that gods drank this and became immortal.

Nectar is also divine drink favored by gods. This is western concept. But nectar is not exactly same as amrit. Nectar does not make you immortal as amrit does. As Amrit is a Hindu mythological term, there can be no exact substitute word in English.

I think English is not so difficult if you have vocabulary. Just try writing small sentences only. If you can match the subject (doer) with verb form, you can write very well.
