Hindi medium candidates feel disadvantage in UPSC competition

The Hindi medium candidates in IAS and allied examinations are in agitated mood. They feel that they are at disadvantage over English medium candidates. It is also revealed that there is urban bias. Also the arts students are at disadvantage as against those from Science and Mathematics stream.
It is necessary to look into their grievances. It may be noted that most IAS work in states where official language is Hindi or regional language. Moreover, very high standard or English may not be necessary. Standard of English appropriate to Hindi medium students should suffice.
