Really breathtaking. Sad  did not know any one of the lakes. Perhaps now I can think of at least some.

Amazing beauty and lovely photography. The Lonar Lake is situated in Buldhana of Maharashtra and it holds the credit of being the only lake caused by the impact of a meteor. Added attraction is that the lake has beautiful temples on its banks including the Kamalja Devi temple, with beautiful stone architecture.

It is heartening to see that there are still some places where the Nature's canvas is still untouched.

I too have not visited any of the lakes featured here...They all look so beautiful, far far from the maddening crowd ! I wish I could visit at least one of them in my life time ..

They are rare spectacles transcending the nature in all it's prismatic glory. Next month i'm planning a tour with my family and other friends. I think i will be able to see some places.

I am lucky to have visited Lake Parashar and Lak Kareri (have written an article about that journey) and Lake Tsongmo during my official visits to Sikkim.

I consider myself unlucky having missed visiting Pangong due to many reasons and had to terminate my journey at Hemis National Park. I wish I could visit rest of the lakes listed here.

Oh Sunil...you are 50 % lucky. Whereas I'm 100% Unlucky. But everything is not over.. There is a long life before me. One day i will certainly visit at least one of these places. Though not for anything, at least to to feed my Sketchbook.

I read the very informative article written by you...Nature is incomparable in beauty and nothing can calm your senses  like nature does

Whatever man does or even the best of the artist do is nothing but an imitation of the nature. Nature itself is an artist and a teacher too.

You can say that again as I have visited many more lakes. I will mention some of them like in Tamilnadu (Ooty), UP, Nainital (City Of Nine lakes), Himachal and Kashmir to name a few. India has a long list of beautiful lakes but we have failed miserably spreading the word about them in whole of the world.
