Eden Gardens likely to host remaining 3 matches - ICC

The fate of the remaining three World Cup matches at Kolkata's Eden Gardens looks safe after the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday said it has received an "encouraging" report from its inspection team.

In a major embarrassment that revived bitter memories of India's struggle to get Delhi ready for last year's Commonwealth Games, Eden Gardens was stripped of the Feb. 27 India v England match last month because of a delay in construction work with Bangalore being the beneficiary.

The fans Kolkatta will have a good relief however all the matches will be non-Indian matches which will worry them. Atleast they were able to clearance for the rest of the world cup matches rather then being suspended.

I wish Eden Gardens come out of all the charges that are applied on it and are restricting from hosting cricket matches.
good news for bengali pepole that after a long time they can see International match at eden gardens........
If there is no match in Eden Gardens it will be a great loss to ICC World Cup 2011.

Sadly for the fans of this part of India, none of these matches would feature the host country!
i feel the 80k seated stadium will go mostly half empty as there is no India match
But won't the fans of Saurav get agitated and create problems as the "bengal tiger" was not opted by any of the IPL teams?
The people of kolkatta want more match but they satisfied with that all the matches are non indian .
