Delhi touched the lowest temperature in 44 years. A child who lost both his eyes due to cancer in the last three years has been coming here for treatment from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). As there was no bed allotted to the boy, he braved the cold with his father to sleep and shelter in the toilets of this Premier medical center of the country

    Not only patients, but also homeless persons (families) use public toilets as shelters. I have seen this in Chennai.

    That's really sad thing that they are not even getting proper place for treatment and stay. Its really too cold, so some arrangement should be done.

    That's really sad thing that they are not even getting proper place for treatment and stay. Its really too cold, so some arrangement should be done.

    Yes this happens in AIIMS where to get treatment is very tough one has to wait for the appointment for so long. I have heard people all over the country come here and stay outside the hospital for their turn. Its really sad to see that we lack good doctors and hospitals at the age too. :evil:

    Not having adequate infrastructure speaks of lack of forethought on the part of Rulers and Planners.

    Not only there here also in AP many people who had cancer their relatives are waiting out side the hospital and sleeping on pavements.

    Ovwer population is major cause. Land is same as in 1947 but population has grown manifold. Where from will you get extra land for housing and other facilities.
