Manmohan Singh has beaten evven the musch criticised former president Pratibha Patil where travel and expenditure is concerned.He has spent a whopping 620 crores, making 67 trips during his tenure as Pm overtaking everybody else...Talk about double standards by our leaders especially the supposedly soft spoken and non corrupt Manmohan Singh !

Prime ministers go out for a purpose while presidents do it for courtesy sake. Pratibha Patil perhaps did it for fun' sake more than anything else.

Absolutely nothing ! Today our economy is at its worst with the lowest growth ever and all that you hear is the various scams that his partymen are involved in, he and his governement should be booted out...

Prime ministers do visit other countries for various reasons , a rich country can afford that - when we look at the developed nations you hardly see their leaders jetsetting like our lot because they are responsible and more importantly accountable and busy looking after their nation , but our netas are busy spending people's money like there is no tomorrow ! Shame on the entire lot :angry:

The problem is with the laidback attitude of our people who seem to think that it is alright for PMs and others to travelo and spend money, I am not sure from where they get this idea that it is their job to do so...

Presidents and prime ministers go out for a purpose. Like a US, French or Russian head of state go out and sell their products and services to other countries but we have nothing to sell besides our leaders do not enjoy the same status as leaders of big countries who get proper returns of their visits as well.

Presidents and prime ministers go out for a purpose. Like a US, French or Russian head of state go out and sell their products and services to other countries but we have nothing to sell besides our leaders do not enjoy the same status as leaders of big countries who get proper returns of their visits as well.

You are right Sunil. We have nothing to sell. We already sold ourselves. And whatever is remaining is not worth selling.

In fact all the ministers have been travelling left right and center - just look at the figures ..
1, S.M krishna - S.M. Krishna - 28 foreign trips - From New York, Islamabad, Beijing, Bali, Singapore and Australia to Israel and Palestine.
2, Anand Sharma - eight visits to Switzerland, South Africa, Pakistan and France.
3, A.K. Antony - six foreign tours during the last two years
4, Former finance minister Pranab Mukherjee also travelled to six overseas destinations (including the US, Nepal, Vietnam and France)
And of course our PM and President and Sonia Gandhi who cannot be questioned...
Most of these ministers take family members and hangers-on at the taxpayers' expense which has added on ..
