I am not sure how valid it is since she was not in power during that time and if the law was unable to punish them at that time, now it may be too late...However, Tytler who was directly involved during the rioyts was a close friend of Rajeev Gandhi and family and has managed to get away because of this proximity....He has even gone on to justify the killings of Sikhs at some stage, talk about political arrogance !

They all doing it for publicity and to collect some fund. What happen in 1984 was internal matter of India.
I doubt how valid that is now for two reasons that Sonia was just a member of the Gandhi family without any power as both her husband and mother-in-law were alive. And secondly, that is pretty late as of now. I don't think those summons will have any practical weight to it.

Very silly, it is ridiculous, interference in foreign matters without having any grounds, time to tell US that they should learn to behave and respect other countries. The whole problem is, there is no one to tell them about this, not in our country at least.

But the courts acted on the complaint lodged by the Sikh community belonging to a group known as "Sikhs for justice " and the matters related to jurisdiction, internal matter or external matter will be decided by our government.
This news was flashed in TV news channels yesterday and many national news papers published the news.
A befitting reply by the Indian Government is needed.

That's right. Technicalilities will be taken into account later. But the court had to first respond to the demand which it did. And by the way, Sonia is in the US currently for medical check up!

The complainants are aware of Sonia's presence in the US.

Technically, Sonia Gandhi has never been in power as she never was either P.M. or member of union cabinet. She hold only party position and is chairperson of advisory body that have no executive power. Moreover I do not understand how a U.S. court is competent to summon an Indian citizen in a case related to Indian territory.

May be Sonia didnt want to embarrass the Nation, so in the pretext of medical checkup, she must have gone to the US Court!

That's the question the government and its think tank has to find out an answer and chalk out the course of action. Though the news is being flashed in TV channels for the last 2 days none of our government agencies or the concerned persons did respond.
