    It is the simple thing to know if the notes are pre-2005 period, such notes have no print year printed on them. All notes printed after 2005 have the year printed on them.

    The main objective of RBI according to the link article is to streamlining the number of currency variants than anything else. Besides this the government in order to check the inflow of fake currency notes intends to use all notes printed after 2015. These notes are expected to be foolproof in all respects.

    It's an effective way to check the inflow of Fake currency mainly from Bangla Desh and Pakistan that is dangerously destabilizing Indian economy.

    Friends I think many people would start buying other currencies to get ride of their black money. They cannot surrender their hidden treasure to the RBI to get the new currency notes. Hence buying other currencies will be the last option to escape out.

    From 1 April 2014, All the banks will be receiving the currencies which do not the year printed on back. I would to like to congratualate Dipu for posting this valuable and much needed thread.
