Telangana is born today as the 29th state of the Indian republic. While many people rejoice, I guess it must be difficult for yet many to see another state being torn into two! Does dividing a state really serve any fruitful purpose? Or is it simply yet another move in the game of chess played by a handful few???

I'm one of those who was shattered to see a State being bifurcated for no reasons. With an evil and sinister design to win the favor of Telangana People the erstwhile Government bifurcated the state. For this the UPA paid dearly. It lost its elections in both the places.

At one point it was said that religion is a binding factor- we saw birth of Bangladesh. Another time language was supposed tobe a binding factor - we saw birth of Uttrakhand, Chatisgarh, Jharkhand and now Telengana. It is what the people want that wil decide whether a state will be further bifurcated or not. UPA did it crudely , some other party may have done it with finesse , but Andhra Pradesh was heading for a break up. Nothing to worry both are in India only and soon will live and thrive like good neighbours. It is time UP was split into 4 states. Smaller states can be governed better. USA with 35 crore or so population has fifty states we with 125 crores have 29 states. Scope is there. Best wishes to Telengana and AP or Seemandhra.

There is no comparison withe USA and India as far as state bifurcations are concerned. Now the reality is Telugu speaking people are split in to two states in an insane way. Now both the people are at each other's throat. It's the starting of fierce conflicts and fights. No body knows what the future holds for these 2 states.

No need to be so pessimistic. After all let it not be forgotten that the Telengana region was asking for separation. Why? There is no smoke without fire. Both states can now concentrate on development.

A few unemployed politicians' greed resulted in the creation Of Telangana. Hyderabad is in Telangana which has been developed as the silicon valley of India named as Cyberabad by Chandrababu Naidu, who is going to be CM of Residual AP. And this place is going to Telangana. Is there any justice? We demanded Hyderabad should be kept aloof as UT,. Who listens us?

But Naidu lost the elections for only developing Cyberabad and not other regions. He can now develop another Cyberabad in AP.

You got a wrong news. Even the Krishna committee stated in no uncertain terms that the entire Telangana has been developed. Of course, the residual AP will go in a big way for a capital better than Hyderabad.
Initially, the reoranization of states was on linguistic basis. Now we are not sure of any basis for such divisions. Here in U.P. also tere is demand for Harit Pradesh or Brij Pradesh. The endless division may lead to the absurdity of each district or commissionarate declared as a state. The division into so many states beneftis the politicians, bureaucrats, judiciary etc with increase in overall administrative cost and consequential price rise.

In 1947 there were nearly 500 plus principalities brought together by Sardar Patel. Today we are 29 and may go up to 35 or so. Long long time to go before we reach worrying point.

Very true. The beneficiaries are the politicians and turn coats. Telangana is a shining example.
