Yes. Not a fiction. A great deed by Jharkhand power supply. You can imagine the plight of the man who received the shock of his life.

That is a different proposition. But can you imagine the mental condition of the owner ? His mother was almost about to collapse. Bills can be rectified. But who is going to rectify the SHOCK?

It's a computing mistake and the consumer should know it. It's a funny matter rather than feeling shocks.

funny? Really funny. The consumer's mother collapsed. Is it funny? C'mon sir, see the things in real perspective.

The wrong done by meter reader who reach with semi machine to read meter, in my state, as far as Jharkhand I have no idea.

It is the carelessness and incompetence of those who are at the helm of the affairs.

My be this was due to some printing mistake.

I'm asking, why this should happen. Why this callousness ? The owner of the house was shocked and his mother collapsed due to heavy stock. who is going to compensate for the mental tension for an ordinary 2 roomed house owner?

I agree with sunil. This is computing error. These days most work is on computer without any human intervention. Even printouts may not be actually seen manually. Many consumers or their families may not be aware of such likely computer blunders. So the shock. This is indeed regret. Two employees have been suspended by the company.

I remeber an anecdote.   Once a company sent a bill of zero rupees. The customer just filed the bill. some time later, the company sent a reminder for payment. The customer sent the reply that he need not pay as the amount payable is zero. But the company went on sending reminders. at last, he drew a cheque for Rs. Zero and mailed to the company. He received back acknowledgement for payment.

Aha... An acknowledgement for a cheque for Rs. Zero ? A smart consumer indeed.
