No doubt Congress party failed in many respects but to say we inherited a barren land is definitely not fair since most of the development that has taken place was initiated by the previous government and we have to impartially accept this fact

Pay no mind to those who talk behind your back, it simply means that you are two steps ahead !!!

Agreed. I was intending to drive home the point, it takes time for a change. The greatest of the civilizations took centuries for their development. Rome was not built in a day.

Haaving got the French President to attend is a feather in the cap of narendra Modi. Last year he had got Obama to be the chief guest. Modi deserves praise for raising Indian prestige. Such a thing never happened before.

Modi is trying to make strong relationship with other countries. It is very good for the development of our country. We can expect helps and supports of other countries when we face problems. Unity is strength.

It is necessary to strengthen the relations with the other counties, Because, ISIS is growing in strength by day. ISIS and other terrorist groups have become a menace to the entire world.  The agreement between Modi and the president of France will certainly go a long way to face the terrorism.

Making relationship with other countries especially with developed countries is the best way to eliminate terrorism from our country. If we get arms and ammunition support from other countries,  we can defeat the terrorists easily.

That's the underlying purpose of Modi - French president agreement. The President of France was severely disturbed by the ISIS activities in Paris. So is India. The French President understood the gravity of the situation and stood by his word. Marching of the French troops in the Republic Day celebrations speaks all. This the first time that marching of foreign troops took part in a Republic Day parade.  Even our own veteran soldier  Mr. M.G. Singh agreed

China is a single party. no opposition party dictatorial like government. India is a multi party country with a vibrant opposition in a democracy. The two countries are not comparable politically. Our biggest strength is that there is  individual freedom of expression, choice of residence, liberty to protest against injustice, right of strike in industries and ability to change governments every five years and so on. The Chinese have none of these rights and are a regimented society. There are sham elections and only Communist party is allowed. Yes, GST bill in China would have been passed in one minute of its introduction. In India politics makes it time consuming to pass even important legislation like GST Bill. Well that is our style of politics. Against the liberties we enjoy some delay in passing Bills is tolerable.

There is term in financial management, "common size statement" it is technique of comparing two companies or business houses. In it all data are converted with a common base, natural it is percentage. If any common base is possible to compare India and China, our development is much and much better than China.

It is a bizarre statement to make that our development is much and much better than China. Till early 1980's India and China were somewhat comparable. But today China is far far ahead of India in economy and all round development. As against our foreign exchange reserves of $350 billion, China has reserves of $3500 bn, as against  our share of 2% China's share of International trade is 10-12%, China's GDP is around $12 trillion and ours is $2 tn. Common size statement could perhaps be made  on population, where also China is ahead of us. So please do not make statements without facts and far from realities as some forum members do get carried away in support.

No doubt that China is far ahead from India in economic development, but What I write mean that if China have democracy like India it may be possible that he may not progress which he have.

Any comparison with China would only reveal a wide gulf in almost every domain. While the Chinese leadership under a communist dispensation remained and has remained steadfastly wedded to the goal of building the country up to emerge a superpower in quickest possible time ,India has been muddling through under a democratic dispensation to find her true place under the sun!!

Democracy is any day preferable to single party rule.
