Please  address the issue of caste war within Hinduism and not bring Afzal etc into it to digress.

Yes, Afzal Guru and the likes of such heroes should garlanded and given a Red carpet welcome.

I think Vijay was referring to dalits' right to worship Mahishasur just as others could worship Durga. It is known that many in Bengal and Odisa worship Mahisasur.  This is a matter among Hindus. The issue of Afazal is different and is not relevant when we talk about worship of Hindu deities (or Hindu demons).

Wow, that is very generous, going by that argument  there is no issue about Godse's followers celebrating ..afterall everyone has his own views and rights !

So what is wrong in it. Why should your way be the only way.

Godse represented a line of thought, flawed or not is not the point. Many in India believe what Godse did was necessary. Having beliefs is part of plurality in society, but denigration should be avoided.

Godse is a real life character in Indian history. He killed Gandhi. In no way, he can be compared with mythological deities associated with peoples' faith. Itr is okay to worship Durga or Mahishasur according to one faith. But it will be anti national to celebrate real life villains/ criminals.

Well said. Each one has his own opinion. One can express freely without hesitation, I fully agree with Usha  too.

Hitler, even today has his followers.

Difference of opinion is acceptable but for that one should not indulge into killing. That needs to be criticised. One may support Godse's opinion but his expression of protest was not a worthy one.

I think people need to get their facts right - According to his followers Mahishasura who is being worshiped  coming from a small town close to Mysore in Karnataka was  a tribal king . When his fame ( atrocities on everyone around him) became a source of worry he was killed by the brahmins ....Mythology is not taken into account here but being mixed up and given a different communal color altogether...If one can support this, one can support everything else including Godse since he too his many followers..Some may not agree but that is their personal or party view and does not stop others from believing what they want ..
