I am not sure how far back one can trace the existence of god and religion. Apparently , even Neanderthals believed in rebirth and life after death because they buried their dead with reverence and with certain rituals ..Nature , its existence and all life forms were  a mystery which automatically led to the belief that there was a power superior to all beings .

One can safely say that Hinduism is both a way of life and the oldest living religion on earth. I strongly disagree with this as it is a seemingly opinionated statement.

Muslims believe in Allah, Hindus in many avatars of God, Christians in their God while an atheist will probably laugh at the discussion we're having. It all depends on an individual's faith. 

Vedas say that there may be different paths to God. The Truth can be preached in different ways. Though there is a power which governs all, we cannot claim that power to be the one who classified humans into religious groups. Religion is a form of faith which itself can take many forms.

Zakir Naik said that "every child is born a Muslim." Supporting that statement would be absurd and blasphemous. But then, same can be said about your statement.

You have the right to disagree but truth cannot be hidden because Hinduism was the only religion that was prevalent in India at the time Mughals invaded and later when the Portuguese and the British came, Islam had spread and then came Christianity...So in one way or the other everybody's ancestry can be traced back to Hinduism ..like it or not, although nothing much to be achieved now !

It would be wrong to say that everyines's ancestry can be traced back to Hinduism. In Northeast Hinduism came much later. History indicates that in the beginning, people in northeastern states followed pagan religion. It is still followed by a good numbers of people. With reference to Manipur, Hinduism was propagated during 15th century by Shanti Days Gossain who came from Bengal during the reign of King Cherairongba. Muslims and Christianity were introduced around 1880s with the arrival of British.

What kind of religion is that Jabeen , i wonder if it is like tribal customs and traditions which we get to see among the thodas and other tribals living in the Western Ghats ? It is interesting  to note that it is still being practiced in the north eastern regions. At  the same time Hinduism spread to Indonesia, Bali , Burmah , Cambodia and Thailand  ..

Very true ..it also goes to show how a smaller Community is able to dominate through muscle power and why not when you have enough fence sitter among the majority Community ..

Assam state government has banned the use of loud speakers around religious places , hospitals,schools and other public places . Hopefully many more states would join in ..
