    Biologically, all our thoughts and emotions are in brain or mind. Heart being a blood circulation organ has no role in planning process as such.

    However, from poetic and literary angle and common vocabulary, heart is about emotions and mind about thoughts. Hence, where logic and planning is main input, we handle our work by mind more. where emotional involvement is more as in case of music or poetry, we work more by heart.

    To give an answer,let me take the meaning of the phrase here "to work by heart" as "To enjoy the work".For any work we do, we need to focus with mind.But our heart (In the sense, what we love) may not be in that work.
    Taking an example from the movie 3idots. :lol: .A person may be studying engineering with his mind, but his heart would be in wild life photography. :)
    So we should work by heart.Because if you love what you are doing, you won't have to work a day in life.Just enjoyment only. :)

    Good Example given by MC. But I think if we use our heart more on work then there may be heart attack problem. ha ha ha.....

    When your heart is not at work, better take a break and begin after renewing your energy for working with heart and soul.
    The mention of words, 'heart' and 'soul' is only proverbial meaning 'with full dedication'. This is not biologically correct, however.

    I think emotion is attached with heart so if we involve our emotion with work then there may be problem so better to use our mind more.
