The British MP Mark Reklas kept away from voting of monitory bill due to heavy drinking. He participated in discussion of the bill , but disappeared without waiting for voting. What a shameful activity by a MP?

It is bad to drink at all during any duty. The British M.P. ought not to have consumed wine at all, not to speak of heavy drinking during his job as M.P. Drinks are okay when off duty only to a moderate extent.
However, the M.P. acted wisely by disappearing as he would have experienced his state. Such follies occur some times. These are not worse than corruption and bribery. I have also indulged in such folly some times but I regret this.

But he should have to vote also because people elected him as their representative. So his vote is their vote and here he had wasted all that votes.

I seriously doubt whether he would have been capable making the right voting decision in his inebriated condition!

I agree abid. He should have not drunk and done his job well as legislator. However, if he continued and not left away, this would be more serious mistake.
