As the news article clearly mentions he has claimed to solve the problem. His claim has not been proved yet. There are some flaws and some points which have been picked up by researchers which Mr. Vinay would have to clarify
That is great acheivement indeed..Attempt to solve it itself is great acheivment.hope he solves the doubt to prove that.
Indians were good in mathematics from ancient ages itself.Arybhata,Banabhatta etc were some of our great mathematicians.This young champ may also be one of them!

Abid is right to say that India has a grand tradition of mathematics. We had many pioneers in mathematics. Decimal system is India's contribution. Hope India will give more attention to Science and mathematics.
