I know that there are less temples for lord Brahma. :) :)

This is correct. Brahma temples are very few. People generally do not worship Brahma. Brahma made this world and became non functional thereafter. So, he is irrelevant. Vishnu is preserver and protector and so all worship him and his incarnates- Rama and Krishna. Shiva is destroyer and so people worship him out of fear.

Brahma created a woman named satrupa to assist him. He got attracted and chased her. This angered shiva who cursed that Brahma would not be routinely worshiped.

I have cited only from the information available on the net. Of course, there are varying and even contradictory stories.

But main thing is that man is selfish. Brahma is creator and he has no role after creation. Hence, he loses all importance. We see in our day to day life that only a useful person is given importance and respected. I remember that a patwari was posted to a village. Patwari was very important. Nobody knew anyone above him. A stranger came and people welcomed and gave him all hospitality. They later asked- You are our new patwari. The stranger got annoyed and said- I am Deputy collector. The villagers said- Oh! you fooled us. Go away. You cheat.

This is the way. Who is Brahma! He is useless. Vishnu protects us. so worship him. Shiva can destroy. so fear and worship.

Its really very interesting information shared here.. I didnt know this much details about bramha. Thanks for sharing :)

Brahma is essential part of trinity functions. Universe or any organization has three functions- creation, preservation and destruction. What you need, you make. This is creative function. You preserve as long as you need. This is preservation function. You destroy when you no longer need or is irreparable. This is destruction function.

According to Hindu thought, Brahma is creator, Vishnu is preserver and shiva the destroyer.

Actually, these 3 persons together is the actual form of God.....though divided as Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswara.

God, deities are all hypothetical and their invention depend on level of intelligence and knowledge. The Hindus were good managers. They believed that one God can not do everything himself. He must properly organize and delegate authority. So, various gods like Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva (the chief managers) and subordinate authorities like Indra, varun etc were conceptualized.
