Mughale- Azam- starring Dilip Kumar and Pritvi Raju Kapoor is no doubt the best on all counts- cinematography, acting, theme. This has been adjudged as best movie of all times in a poll in United kingdom. . The songs of films like 'P:yaar kiya to darana kya' and quavali are memorable.

True..Mughal-e-azam is still considered as one of the landmark films of the Indian cinema. In all aspects, from direction to music to photography, film editing etc. it was an excellent film that surpassed all expectations.

I agree with the judgment. Its almost a perfect film.
Yes, Mughale Azam is greatest iconic Bollywood film all the time.

Be positive
Mughal e azam is indeed the greatest flm ever made in India...It created many milestones - last film acted by Madhubala although Jwala which was released later was shot much earlier! Also probably the only film where Dilip Kumar did not have a role that stood out since Madhubala and Pritviraj Kapoor stole the show all the way... I must have watched it half dozen times already but will keep watching it every now and then and discove new aspects in it !

I still remember Madhubala’s face, defiance writ all over her face, when she says, “Maut Wohi Jo Duniya Degi, Ghut Ghut Aahen bhar na kya.” A great actor’s great performance.

Mughale Azam deserve it. Not only songs is dialogues and its cinemotography all are best one. Above all Prithviraj Kapoor give his best in this film. Great movie.
Mughle Azam was a good period movie although its not all time great for me. Maybe historical or impractical affairs are not my idea of a movie. I for myself would go for 'Chalti ka nam gadi' as my choice of evergreen any day.

Chalati ka naam gadi- is a funny movie. I also like such movies. Another movie is 'Badhati ka naam dadhi' .

When a movie is adjudged as ‘All time great”, all the branches of movie making are taken in to consideration. Movies are ‘make believe’ art forms. The question of reality and practicality will never arise. Additionally, the movies you mentioned are comedy based. Only the ‘humour’ part has been taken into consideration. Where as in the case of Mughal-E- Azam, all the aspects related to movie production are taken in to consideration before it’s adjudged as “All time Great.”

All three old timers who were considered to be the famous trio - Meena Kumari, Madhubala and Nargis finished their career with great landmark films. Mughal e azam was Madhubalas swan song, and Mother India was Nargis's although she did Raat aur Din years later which was also an excellent film that gave her a national award.Meena Kumari acxted in Pakeezah another never to be forgotten film...
